Would you like to reduce cravings or stop feeling hungry all the time?

One thing you can try is eating some veg or a homemade veg soup or salad before your main meals. This can help you feel fuller and reduce the need to snack. It’s obvious that eating more would fill you up more! But apparently, it’s the order that food is eaten in that makes the difference.

I learned about this from a book- Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspe. I’ve been testing it out this week & been pleasantly surprised at how much less bloated I feel.

The hardest thing for me was introducing more veg at breakfast. Usually I’d have 1/2 an avocado, 2 eggs and sourdough seeded toast with butter and marmite. I've been adding more green veg (green beans and asparagus) and it's been much easier than I anticipated. My mood has improved because of it and it seems like my usual headaches have disappeared. I’ve got everything crossed for this to resolve my headaches because they have been driving me up the wall!

So as I mentioned Jessie recommends eating in a particular order ie veg first, protein second and starchy carbs last. Apparently eating the veg first helps to slow down the absorption of the rest of your food, so, your blood sugar won't spike as high and then subsequently won't come crashing down, leaving you feeling fuller for longer.

Usually I need to eat every 2 to 3 hours but I've noticed that I can go for 4 to 5 hours between meals eating this way! Calorie wise I’m probably eating the same amount as before, but as there’s a longer gap between meals, my body is now using fat stores…which means a happy by product could be fat loss in the long term.
